The purpose of this study is to identify the types of perceptions of the age-friendly environment perceived by middle-aged and elderly people, examine the characteristics of each subgroup type, and investigate how subgroup types actually affect age discrimination perception. To achieve these, the data on the ¡°Survey on the Actual Conditions of the Elderly Residing in Daejeon Metropolitan City¡± about 345 middle-aged and older people were used. For analysis, Latent Profile Analysis(LPA) to verify the type of age-friendly environment perception, and multiple regression analysis to verify the effect of each subgroup type on the perception of age discrimination was performed. As a result of the analysis, the perception of age-friendliness among middle and old people was classified into three types; ¡®High-level type of age-friendly environment perception¡¯, ¡®Middle-level type of age-friendly environment perception¡¯, ¡®vulnerable type of age-friendly environment perception¡¯. In addition, in the relationship between the age-friendly perception type and the age discrimination perception, it was found that the age discrimination level was low in the type recognized as a relatively high age-friendly environment. Based on the results, various intervention efforts were discussed to improve the community environment for middle-aged and elderly people and to alleviate awareness of age discrimination.
